Would You Dance with Me?

I am in doggie jail in Paris, Kentucky.

You can click here or on any picture or my name to go directly to my Petfinder page.

I was picked up for vagrancy…well, okay, they just call us dogs “strays”.

I prefer not to talk about my past life, so you’ll just have to take me as I am.

These people gave me lots of tests to see if I was safe to go live with people.  If you don’t pass, you disappear.  They decided I was safe to live with people and other dogs.

Actually, I love people!  I definitely want to be an inside dog where I can be with you all the time.  I’d even enjoy having a companion dog.

They call me Cha Cha here.  I guess it’s because I’m so outgoing and active.  I weigh in at 74 lbs. but they say I’m too thin.  What would you expect of a homeless girl?

My ideal home is very flexible.  One requirement is that I be with people, not stuck outside in a yard or kennel.  I’d enjoy walking or jogging with you.  I’d love going to school to learn all about the stuff you call “obedience”.  I sometimes pull against the leash and they tell me that is wrong.  So I would need some help in that department.  I love treats and take food very gently.

I don’t know my breed or how old I am.  I think I’m a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, but they say I may be a Lab mix.  I’m a dark brown (Chessie coloring) or chocolate (Lab coloring).  The people here think I am about 4 to 5 years old in human years.

If you’d like to give me a forever home, please call

Paris Animal Welfare Society, Paris, KY

You can’t take me home until the adoption application is completed and approved. Then they say I have to be spayed.  They said to tell you there is no electronic version of the adoption application, so please call the shelter.

  1. You are most beautiful, Cha-Cha, and I hope you find the best home very soon. I was in the slammer for three months when finally my Mom came and said "I want THAT one" and it was me she took home! So don't give up, and don't feel like things are hopeless. You will get the right person in the right time!

    Kisses,
    Stella
