Meet Hunter!

Hi Y’all!

Meet Hunter!

He is a pure bred Chessie!

Tell us your story, Hunter!

“I am already housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.”

I don’t understand why I was sent away from my family and little children.   They tell me about a divorce that changed everyone’s living situation. I don’t understand.

I’m an energetic 8 yr old Chessie who has a lot of love to give. They say I have personality plus! I love the water, but what Chessie doesn’t.  I also love being outdoors with my family.

I think I look great for my age. I have a dark brown coat and weigh about 75 lbs.  I was raised with a child & another dog and I miss them.

Right now I’m in a home with a 9 yr old child and 2 chihuahuas. They say I’m scheduled for the big “snip snip”??? on January 13th.  I’ll be available to go to a new forever home shortly thereafter.

If you’d like to adopt me please fill out an application at www.companimals.org or email for more info. Adoption $165

Christmas Tease

Hi Y’all!

It was Christmas Eve and I was calling the Humans to come look!!!  It was snowing!!!

I guess you really can’t tell on the grass…

These next photos were taken at 5:30 PM Christmas Eve…the snow had stopped and the sun was straining to brighten the mountains once more.

Unfortunately all signs of the snow were gone shortly after sunrise Christmas morn.

Stay tuned for the Christmas ball…

Y’all come back now!

Hi Y’all!

I must say, this past week was more than a bit challenging…let me go back to the early morning moon setting over the water…black and white Sunday…

For some reason, I cannot see the photos.

Oh no Hawk! What happened to your photos? All I see is a circle with a line through it where the pics should be. :(
Hope you still have an awesome Christmas! Maybe a new Wubba is in your future? :)

Happy B&W Sunday guys!
I dont think your pics are coming up properly for your post today though....unless it's just on my end?
Thought I would let you know :)
((husky hugs))

My Human looked at the times the above posts were made…at 1:14pm the commenter could see the photos…at 1:32 Sugar couldn’t see my photos and, with the exception of Susie and Sidebite at 4:49, the readers couldn’t see the photos.  At 5:38 the commenter still wasn’t seeing the photo.

Confused, we went into Blogger and Google and finally into the online photo storage.  THE CULPRIT!!!

My silly Human had changed the storage area setting and it had turned off the photos for most readers.  In fact, we couldn’t see our own photos!  Mystery solved!

Please accept our apology for the failure of our photos on the Sunday post.

Then Monday we joined in Something Wagging This Way Comes Pet Blogger's Gift Exchange

Pet Blogger's Gift Exchange is co-hosted bySomething Wagging This Way Comes and I Still Want More Puppies.  This was the wonderful venue where I got to meet the cute Harvey!  of the Balloon Diaries!

Harvey and lots of balloons

This was a great way to get to know another blogger as well as share your blog.  Originally intended to be one day, Harvey was so cute and such an unusual little fellow that there was just too much cuteness to put in just one post!

As for exercise…we had lots of rain and the Humans were busy with family.

I’ll tell y’all about my Christmas next week!

Y’all hurry back now!!!

Okay, so Harvey isn’t this tiny anymore!  After all, just like rest of us, he grew up!  He’s 4 years old now!   Oh, he still has lots of mischief in his heart!

In the photo above he is refusing to let go of his newest toy!

But how much mischief could a happy little fellow get into?  Especially such a little fellow who is obsessed with balloons!

To find out what kind of mischief read False Confession Day (here) and the truth (here).  You won’t believe what mischief such a happy cutie can do!!!

Friday’s Fun, Fitness and Follow Up!

Hi Y’all!

Another week and we’re only a few days from Christmas!

Been spending a lot of time retrieving the hidden bumpers.  Next week maybe I’ll have more “action” shots for y’all.

Now to get to the questions…

Last Friday

I love your world, Hawk! That moon is beautiful and I just love seeing you romping around having so much fun! I see you have some cow buddies too, huh?
Jan, Wag 'n Woof Pets

And a warming sight…spring…

And some summertime pictures of some other big friends…

Saturday I focused on winter time beauty in color and followed with more beauty in black and white on Sunday.

After the weekend we came to Mischief Monday…where I tried to torment y’all with reminders of how fast Christmas is coming!  Five days from now is Christmas day!!!

Me with my very own Christmas card!

Hi Hawk!
Only 10 days until Christmas?!? Oh dawg, I better start wrapping gifts. I just love giving gifts, don't you?
*high paw*

Getting to the heart of the matter

Does this photo from Christmas 2009 answer you question?

Then on Wednesday’s post “Racing Toward Christmas”

Oz theTerrier said...

Hawk, pal...you are running so fast you may just catch Christmas early! If you do, will you share your catch with us?!?
*high paw*

Dolly theDoxie said...

Will running real fast make it get here sooner? Love Dolly

BOL!  I’ll share Christmas with everybody!  and yes, all the hurrying and racing about seems to fill the days to overflowing and they just disappear faster and faster!!!

Then we came to yesterday “Once Upon a Frosty Morn”…

SlimDoggy said...

Hey Hawk - glad you got back into warmer weather? How many bumpers do they hide for you - sounds like a fun game!

I’m happy to be back at the shore, but not as happy as my Human…though she is never happy when we get an early frost.

As for the number of bumpers she hides, sometimes it’s just one, sometimes it’s a bunch and sometimes she puts piles in different spots then sends me to bring a bumper off of different ones…guess it depends on her mood or whim?  P1300757Sometimes she does the piles and then hides the dokken for me to fetch last.  It’s always changing.  P1230728And before you ask, I don’t get to just go around sniffin’ for ‘em.  She sends me to the spot where I’m supposed to fetch one.

Just retrieving and returning isn’t enough…I must place whatever I retrieve in her hand.

These exercises are good mental stimulation for your retriever.  Remember we need jobs and discipline.  Not to mention the exercise burns calories.

You don’t have to use bumpers, you can use toys or balls or whatever you have that your dog likes.

Y’all come back now!
