Enough is Enough

Hi Y’all!

P1380978

Everyone has heard about the “brown out day” by now.  I’d like to start by extending a special “thank you” to Oz theTerrier who told me what caused the “brown out”.  Seems I left a piece of code out.  Yeah, I’m not blamin’ the editor.

P1390041

The editor, after reading some of the blogger help, made my photos smaller for Thursday’s post.  However the photos came out “ginormous”!  Friday’s post seemed better, but my Human still has to get some stuff fixed up.

P1390030

The other strange thing is that the comments section is different now.  Have to ask the editor.

Enough.

P1390024

SlimDoggyAugust 8, 2014 asked

“What is that beautiful blue bird? So pretty. Thanks for joining the Hop Hawk.”

P1390070

The jury seems to out on this bird.

P1390076

At first glance he appears to be a possible cross between a great white egret and a great blue heron.  His wing feathers appear to be the correct coloration for a great blue, but the eye markings are missing.

P1390070

My Human could not get close enough to get a better shot because he is sitting out in the inlet in water.

Guesses anyone?

P1380975

Nature by Dawn asked

…Hawk. It looks like things are working well now, though. I was going to ask you what kind of bird that was you were looking at. It reminds me of a kookaburra but I'm not sure that is right.

P1390066

That guy is an immature green heron.  They have been nesting here for a number of years.

P1390085

Last Mischief Monday I asked

“and guarding the house against…against…what am I guarding against?”

P1390093

And easyweimaraner answered

“maybe you have to guard the house agains invisible silence intruders?”

Oz theTerrier  answered

“Hawk, so much to do and so little time! I wonder what you are guarding the house against? Squirrels?”

P1390086

Thanks y’all!  Now I know what I’m supposed to be doing!

P1390087

Y’all hurry back now!

  10. The comments do look a little different but all in all I'd say the editor has whatever the gremlin was on the run. :-)

  12. It looks to me like your editor has things under control! It's not an easy job, Hawk. Your job of guarding the house might be easier!

  13. You sure have some interesting birds there. We saw some sandhill cranes by the side of the highway last weekend. It was a surprise to see them.

  14. I should have known that was a heron of some kind. I'm usually pretty good at identifying different birds. Thanks Hawk!

I often have trouble with my editor too, she's not the best, but she's cheap! :)
