Hi Y’all!

“Gee-whiz, Hawk...that is a lot of snowin' and blowin'! I'm glad your ankle is feeling better so you can get out for a little play-hunt. What did you catch the scent of? I would've loved to play-hunt with you.
Happy Weekend, buddy.

“OMD what was it did you find it? I run all crazy too when we go to the forest preserves and mom can't follow me! Our weather is so bad right now I can't go for walks at all! Love Dolly”

It’s the same kind of scent I catch on our hikes, and it isn’t cattle.

One thing about snow, it encourages running to keep warm…helps raise the heartbeat!

Let me follow up on a few questions y’all had about last Sepia Saturday…

“Where's da treats”

“Are those your "pretty please" eyes, Hawk? BOL
Happy Sepia Saturday, buddy.

Olive Kennedy said...

“Great picture! I too am wondering where the treats are!”

My treat is just out of camera range.  Go to yesterday’s post (here) to see my Human’s hand give it to me!

BOL!!!  I’m looking longingly at a treat.  And sorry, no minty breath…my toothpaste is chicken flavor.

About Monday’s Mischief…

“Hawk! Is this not the craziest weather ever? It dropped 40 degrees overnight! And the WIND! OH MY WORD. To top it all off, my hometown, way deep south of here, is closing schools tomorrow because of ice! Menopausal. That's what the weather is.

Schools here are delayed and in the low country, at the shore, I think they may try to reopen today, Friday.  Weather like this has never been seen there. It’s even strange for here in the mountains.

Gotta go!  My feet are frozen!

Y’all hurry back now!

Barks and More Barks! Even Some Bits, No Bytes!

Hi Y’all!

All the snow was gone and now LOOK!  It’s back!  With a vengeance!

Remember I told y’all that my Humans brought me a special treat when they were at the farmers co-op?

Some of you will recognize the label on the treat.  It is sitting there with the melons.  For those of you who don’t…here’s a close up…

I thought this moment would NEVER come!

Yummy!  YUMMY!!!

Now I’d like to bark about some of my barks from last week…

Oz theTerrier said...

“A dog can eat the hoof trimmings?!? Great dawg...I know nothing! BOL So, I wonder what wonderful surprise you did get! I cannot wait to hear.
Happy Thursday,

Yep, a dog can eat hoof.  And

Flea was kind enough to tell us about their hooves…

“I've never known a dog to get sick from a Jones hoof (I think they're baked versus the fresh trimmings, and they're cow, not horse), but Jodi is right about the smell! PEWEEEE! They stink when they're chewed!
That said, I can't wait to see what your folks got you, Hawk!

Y’all come back now!

Meet Molly!

hello, I’m Molly!

I’m 5 years old.  I’m calm and well behaved.  I love going for walks and even more so when you talk to me.  I wag and wag my tail to let you know I’m listening to you.

I’m a quiet girl with proper house manners, I think you would call it house trained.

I do NOT like cats.  Other dogs are okay as long as I have my own place to eat in private.

I’m spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped.

All I want is a loving forever home.

If you are interested in adopting Molly click here.

Adoption Fee: $175.00 **We do not adopt out our dogs outside of an hours drive of the Clearwater FL area**** **You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt** You may go to

Monday’s Mischief

Hi Y’all!

The weather is the most mischievous I’ve ever seen!  and the wind!  I don’t even like going outside to pee.

One day it’s FREEZING!  The next day it’s nice and above freezing…but least we forget it is still winter, Mother Nature seems to follow up the following day with more snow and sleet.

Hurry, hurry!  I’m cold!  I want to go inside!

Fitness Friday!

Hi Y’all!

If you’re lookin’ for some answers to questions you asked, check out yesterday’s post here.

Now, to today’s post…

I’ve been testin’ out my ankle, though my Human has been limiting my exercise.

We were getting snow overnight and then it would melt during the day.

Unless you were up there at the top of the mountain.

Then after a couple of really warm days it started snowin’…and blowin’!

I caught a scent and started climbin’…this is one climb where my Human can’t follow.

Yep, I’m on the right path!

Followin’ scent, especially with the climbin’ is great exercise and it would be easy on the paws if there wasn’t any snow.  I get to stretch and use all my muscles, especially my back end muscles.

Evidently these critters like to zig and zag.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing, cause it lets me reverse on the slope and exercise the muscles on the opposite side.

Y’all come back now!

Just a Few Barks, No Bites, ah, Bytes

Hi Y’all!

Last Saturday’s post, evoked this comment:

Wesley McPoodleton said...

Looking good in sepia, Hawk! Whats got you looking so intently in that direction?

I was watchin’ my Human Papa watchin’ the sunset.

Sunday’s post brought these questions:

Emma said...

Are you winking at me, Mr???

Oz theTerrier said..

Hawk, do you know what a cool dude you really are? Is that why your winking? Sorry I didn't make it by yesterday, pal. Happy Sunday. Oz

SlimDoggy said...

Hey handsome Hawk - you winking at all the ladies out there?

Dolly theDoxie said...

Got the sun in your eyes huh? Nice! Love Dolly wink wink

Wesley McPoodleton said...

Oh, who are you winking at, Hawk? A lady-friend

I’m winkin’ at all of you, my friends!  Oh, and my Human too.

On Mischief Monday, when I didn’t get a treat I got this comment…

Amber DaWeenie said...

What do you mean...NO TREAT! Give her the tail!
Hap-Pee Monday!

Linda Bliss said...

Rooooo did you say *treat*? I'm coming over *Waggy tail*

Kari in Alaska said...

Did you get the treat?
Stop on by for a visit

Sorry, no treats…ignoring the Humans is not a good idea…that’s what I learned.

Flea said...

Hawk! Tell your mama to give you a Jones Natural Chew hoof! Then you'll speak to her again.

My Human won’t let me have hoof.  Seems that some of my long passed brothers and sisters used to like to steal the hoof trimmings when the blacksmith to shoe the horses.  The problem wasn’t that the horses needed the trimmings from their hooves, but that my predecessors would get sick and throw up.  Sigh…

But don’t despair, they got me something special at the farm co-op.

Y’all hurry back now!
