The GSMNP bans dogs from all trails (but allows horses - go figure).

To make it more confusing, Pisgah allows off-leash, but under control, dogs and the BRP requires all dogs to be on D.K. She kept telling the lady that we had bags and that she needed to stop yelling at my hu-brother. I think my mama wanted to bite her.

All this was caused because some bad people had not been picking up after their dogs on this ladies lawn. Not only could we be a loud voice for dog access (something like 50% of households have dogs in them) but we could also work on educating all dog owners about what they need to do to keep openKBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16885661679762446456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419327815987723693.post-64453135793240326022011-01-31T19:38:20.032-05:002011-01-31T19:38:20.032-05:00We feel the same way! We don't want them ruining it for everybody! Dogs are allowed in all but a few of our state parks here, although most national parks are extremely restrictive (although they seem to allow human puppies to run wild there), and we are lucky in houndstoothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02159272473651561647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419327815987723693.post-55113788593713297252011-01-31T18:25:24.188-05:002011-01-31T18:25:24.188-05:00I always hate when people don't pick up after ...I always hate when people don't pick up after their dogs. Or if your dog bites someone, you are BANNED! Then all the well-behaved doggies and their well-behaved humans can be free to do as they want.Trixie, Lily, and Sammy-Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05480768918837568036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419327815987723693.post-1631370447984124112011-01-31T07:50:04.212-05:002011-01-31T07:50:04.212-05:00It is too bad that there always seems to be a few ...It is too bad that there always seems to be a few who ruin it for the rest of us. :( So far they haven't limited use of the forest around here, but they are trying, (and for more than just dog walking).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
