We would like to try whistle training, maybe this summer. I will keep all your great advice in mind!24 Paws of Lovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06574070591449171093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419327815987723693.post-53909072081550005972011-04-22T20:19:07.422-04:002011-04-22T20:19:07.422-04:00Great explanation of teaching whistle sit and come...Great explanation of teaching whistle sit and come to the whistle. It always surprises me how different each whistle sounds and how dogs know "their" whistle. We have been at tests where someone forgot or broke their whistle and you would think they could borrow a whistle...no...wrong tone.

I am glad you explained about an e-collar. We only use e-collar very very sparingly Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419327815987723693.post-74959362625684077252011-04-22T19:00:21.480-04:002011-04-22T19:00:21.480-04:00I do really wonder if my neighbors would appreciat...I do really wonder if my neighbors would appreciate the whistle instead of yelling for the dogs at 5 am? I don't yell loud - it's almost a whisper - but the dogs don't always listen so I end up saying it several times.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419327815987723693.post-77760582819716625812011-04-22T14:55:36.017-04:002011-04-22T14:55:36.017-04:00A dog that comes on command. Around here we don't work on our commands very often, With the large number of rescue fosters that come and go, we do not get much training work. It is hard to train when we have different dogs each week. Now that we have had Nala as our foster for a long time, we are actualy working on commands and leash training again.Mogley G.
