Hi Y’all,
The other evening we were returning from our evening walk and my Human told me to wait.
My Humans said it was a water snake and wasn’t poisonous. My Human thinks it’s called a “Plainbelly” water snake.
He obviously had just eaten a rather large meal. He politely posed for photographs and then slithered off and to the water’s edge.
Y’all come back now.

Woof! Woof! Scary ... but great photo. Happy Wednesday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteCool photos on the snake. I am glad he wasn't poisonous. My friend Dougal got bit by a rattlesnake the other day and is in pretty bad shape.
ReplyDeleteBe careful my friend

Good boy, Hawk!!
ReplyDeleteHawk that is scary and he stopped to pose too. Wow! Have a wonderful Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
If I freaked out over a mouse, I would have had a heart attack over this snake! Poisonous or not! He really seemed to like having his picture taken though. great shots! :)
ReplyDeleteEek! But glad it wasn't poisonous! A very pretty snake actually, glad you didn't try to eat it.
ReplyDeleteThat snake looks like he got extra lucky and chowed down on several somethings! Must have raided a nest somewhere.....
ReplyDeleteCool wait, Hawk! We don't have snakes that big where I live, but it's always a good idea not to get too close. At least that's what Mom says.
ReplyDeleteCool photos Hawk! I haven't seen a snake that big since I lived in AZ.
ReplyDeleteHawk, you and your human did a great job keeping your cool. I would have panicked and made lunch out of him for our hawks. How nice of Mr. Snake to pose for pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good sized snake!
ReplyDeleteGood job not going after that snake... that would have scared us quite a bit!
ReplyDeleteCool snake! Glad he wasn't dangerous and even more glad you're such a good boy to wait while your human checks things out. Always best to be safe.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad the snake wasn't hurt. They are our friends.
ReplyDeleteYou handled that snake well. Pretty sure my Lulu would have tried to jump around it. She may have even barked at it!

Wow, great pictures! & you were so good not scaring the snake away! Glad we stopped by!
ReplyDeleteEck! We are not fans of snakes here!
ReplyDeleteWow!!
ReplyDeleteHe sure wanted to be on camera!! :)
Wags to all
Your pal Snoopy :)
You sure showed some self-control there, my friend. A lesser dog would have been running around the yard with the thing in his mouth. Not that I have any of those kinds of dog at my place, LOL.
