On Follow Up Friday

Jodi Stone said...

“I learned something today, I had no idea you could have two hops on your blog. Amazing!
Have a great weekend.”

No reason not to join more than one hop if both interest you and you can address both issues.  My Human thought doing the A to Z Challenge during the month of April would be educational for me and give a new approach to my posts.  However, I didn’t want to give up the regular hops.  So we did both.

 P1290169

Course once we learned it worked, we started joining up with Sugar on the See Beautiful hop on the 2nd Friday of each month.  I’ve been tryin’ to keep the Fit Doggy hop in there too.

 P1290171

It is challenging to address all the issues, but it makes me think and use this furry head of mine.  BOL!!!

Chocolate Thunder

Hello!

My name is Chocolate Thunder.  They say I’m a mix of Lab and Chessie.

I don’t like talking about my past.  They say that you’d like to know that I’m neutered and up to date on all my shots.  They also said that it was important to tell you that I’m house trained.

I’d love to meet you!  Especially if you are looking for a companion.

Please come to meet me!

Mischievous?

Hi Y’all!

P1290237

Bad news!  I had no chance to get into any mischief this week…

Unless…

The Humans!

Do they count?

They’re up to something…they are so, so busy…when I try for attention my Human says “not now, Hawk…go lay down.”

And the Internet!  The Internet has been giving us all a FIT!!!  It is limited and refuses to load anything most of the time!

Windin’ Up and Preparin’ to Begin! The Week! A New One!

Hi Y’all!

P1280716

Last  Sunday I posted the following black and white photo and received several questions that I didn’t answer yet.

P1290058

So I want to address those questions now.

Golden Woofs! SUGAR said...

“COOL! IS the first photo taken from a window. Happy Black n White Sunday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar”

There were 2 black and white photos in the post.  Sugar was asking about the above photo.

nodogaboutit said...

Oooh Hawk! I love this one! How did you get such a cool effect? It's really cool looking.

No, this was not through a window.  We were outside in the evening.  This was another instance of my Human playing with her camera focus.  The bird was sitting on the neighbors pier; both were in sunlight.

See the tree leaves…she was havin’ trouble getting the bird in focus ‘cause the lens wasn’t strong enough and she was getting the leaves okay.  This was a throw out until my Human saw it on the computer screen.  She doesn’t have a special editing program, so what she sees through the lens is what you get.

“It looks like a stork?”

It does, doesn’t it?  but it isn’t.

“Is that a crane?
I'll be back tomorrow to see what you were up to, Hawk!

“Spooky crane!”

Nope not a crane either.

Oh, y’all really want me to tell you what it is?…I have to admit it really looks like a stork or a crane, but it’s an egret.

Follow Up and Stay Fit

Hi Y’all!

P1280819

Most of y’all probably read Monday’s post (here), which I addressed yesterday on This n That (here)

Let me tell you more about fire ants…if you look at the above photo you will notice bald spots in my coat…thanks to the fire ants.  Fire ants are a serious problem in the low country…although some areas anywhere south of the Mason Dixon line suffer with the little Devils, though not to the extent the low country suffers.

P1210329

Fire ants are not to be confused with red ants which are not as hazardous to ones health.

P1210341

My Humans get our yard sprayed twice a year, spring and fall, to prevent the little critters.  When they sprayed this year the wetland was underwater much higher than normal.  The lower part of the lawn became wetland.

Since you were near the river I'm thinking either a mosquito or fly bite Hawk...Have to come back to see for sure...Love the colors and effects in the last photo…

P1290068

Ah, Gizmo my friend, thank you.  I asked my Human about that photo…she was playing with her camera focus and hasn’t been able to duplicate it…As for the mirror effect…that happened when I placed the photo into the “writer”…it just happened…So y’all, that photo was an accident and neither my Human nor can take credit.

I received lots of questions about my Wordless Wednesday post (here), or see photo below.

Molly The Wally said...

Hey Hawk have you been fishing?
Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Love your smile Hawk. Can't help but wonder what is making you so happy.

You look so happy, did you just go for a swim or to fetch?

How was the water, Hawk? Is the water getting colder yet?
*high paws* for a Happy Wednesday!

Looking good Hawk - nice smile...like you're up to something.

Michelle Liew said...

Any success on the fishing trip, Hawk?

Ian Thomson said...

Did you catch anything Hawk.
Happy WW.
Sheba.

The truth be told I was just coming out after washing those nasty fire ants off my legs and belly.  My Human sent be back out again to chase my ball.  She said she wanted to be sure there weren’t any on the rest of me!  So I got a nice swim.

No, the water hasn’t cooled much, but I haven’t seen the gator lately.

My Human said she’s going to take the flashlight down to the inlet that comes up into the lawn.  If no eyes are lookin’ back, she’ll start lettin’ me fetch bumpers from the water again.  YES!!!

I had a question about black n white Sunday’s post I’ll address tomorrow.

Got to go get some exercise now!

My Human is jogging with me twice a day again…early and late ‘cause it’s still too hot mid-day.

A Little of This n That

Hi Y’all!

P1280774

Monday I promised to tell you why I dropped my ball and rolled on the ground!

P1280902

P1280913

I got a laugh out of Storm’s person’s comment…

2browndawgs said...

“In Storm's case it would be she smelled some animal poop to roll in...lol.”

P1280915

Sorry Storm, no poop to roll in…you’d love it during breeding season though…lots of duck and goose poop all over the place.  BOL…all yours too, ‘cause I’ve never rolled in it; I haven’t even rolled in dead animal carcasses.

But you weren’t alone in the “goose poop”…read on…

Amy said...

“My guess is goose poop. The Canada geese have been honking back to our area too. They sure would be fun to chase if it weren't for my darn leash. Your pal, Toby”

Sam said...

“By any chance were you rolling in goose poop?
Monty and Harlow”

Those of you wanting a little goose poop…August is the best time because the geese are molting and there are LOTS of goslings trailin’ along with the adults.

P1220073

A few of y’all just had nice comments…
Nature by Dawn said...

“LOL so cute! That look in your eyes is priceless. :)”

P1280891

Molly The Wally said...

“Epic roll Hawk. That sure was a good one. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly”

JoAnn Stancer said...

“something got your undies in a bundle, can't wait for TNT.”

P1280928

Some of y’all started guessing…think maybe they know me?

SlimDoggy said...

It looks like you got bit by something or else the grass was just overwhelmingly soft and fuzzy and you had to drop and roll.

“Looks like you were having fun. But then what??”

Then Oz recognized my agony!

Oz theTerrier said...

“Oh Hawk...I sure hope you didn't step in a fire ant pile. I did that once and great dawg it was OUCHY! They bit up my paws all in between my toes and everything. I hate those critters.
Have a great Monday, my pal!”

For those of you wondering I did get up and return the ball, then my Human took me down to the water to drown those pesky critters!
