Chase Chanelle

Hi Y’all!

Hawk here…no pictures of me today.  Today is the day I feature dogs who need your help.

Once more I’m featuring dogs where little is known about them.  Since they are in an animal shelter (ie. doggie jail), they need all the help we can give them.

So let me introduce

Chase!

ID # 12-D0153

Sex: M

Age: 1yr

Date of Intake:

7-27-12

and

Chanelle!

ID # 12-D0154
Sex: Female
Age: 1 year
Date of Intake:

7-27-12

Both dogs are listed as Chessie/Lab mixes.  They appear to have some hound there too, don’t y’all think?

Both are located at Sampson County Animal Shelter, Clinton, NC.  The telephone is: (910) 592-8493.  The email address is: lbaxter@sampsonnc.com

Click on the name or picture to go to their Petfinder page.

I know many of my readers and rescuers are from states other than North Carolina.  There are provisions through which you can adopt these dogs.

The following information for rescuers or adopters outside of NC is copied from the dog’s Petfinder page:

How do I adopt/rescue an animal if I am out of area or State?

The best way to contact SCAS is by email at lbaxter@sampsonnc.com . You can request a 48-hour hold for the animal you are interested in to allow time to set up vetting, transport, etc. Put the name and/or ID # of the animal in the subject line. Please include your full name, complete address, and phone number(s) in the first email that you send us for easy reference. If you know when and how the animal will be leaving, please include this information. (Multiple emails, faxes and voicemails are not necessary.)

If you are not local to SCAS, we have volunteers who can transport animals to local vets for vetting and quarantine. Once you have received confirmation that your desired animal is available, you’ll need to contact one of the local vets to set up an account with them. Once we have verification of this, we will have our volunteers transport to the vet you’ve chosen. There is no charge for this volunteer transport service. Health certificates are required by law for Out-of-State travel and are only obtainable by your chosen vet. Here is a list of local to semi-local vets that can help you obtain the necessary Health Certificate for your new pet to travel Out-of-State:

Foster instead of Quarantine?

In some circumstances, local fosters may be available for the quarantine period required to obtain a Health Certificate for Out-of-State travel. This option will save you money as opposed to paying a boarding fee at a vet’s office. It is customary to offer your foster the cost of food and medical supplies that may be needed for your animal during the foster period. You may check with this group about the availability of a foster: https://www.facebook.com/Fosters4Furbutts. You may also post on our Facebook page to see if anyone not associated with this group is available.

What is a 48-hour hold?

A 48-hour hold keeps the animal safe while you work on getting your vetting set up, transportation arranged, etc. It means that the animal will not be euthanized during this time. Due to space limitations, this hold cannot be extended beyond 48 hours. If a local adopter comes for the animal you have on hold, SCAS may make the decision to allow the animal to be adopted.

I hope this information will help get these dogs adopted or rescued!

Y’all come back now!
