Hi Y’all!
Today I’m joining Thursday’s Barks and Bytes Blog Hop hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog.
I’m also linkin’ up with Ruskus the Eskie in Thoughtless Thursday.
I’m going to start back at last Thursday’s Barks and Bytes post…
“Thanks for answering my question Hawk. I have found one tick on Delilah and the other day I had one crawling on me. I sent it swimming in the alcohol jar. ;-)
I'm thinking the mountains are looking pretty good for temperature wise, so tell me, how is the humidity?”
If we continue up our road from our house to the higher elevations, it’s mid to late June when spring arrives. It rains above us (higher elevations) almost daily.
Most days we need no air conditioning and it's rare to need it at night. July temperatures vary from highs in the high 60's at the highest elevations to the low 80's at lower elevations. Very few homes are air conditioned. It's more humid here than in the Rockies...Coming from the southeastern shore we don't find it very humid, so it's all relative.
“I haven't been over to Blogpaws to check out that discussion, but have you heard of Creative Commons? It is a place you can find photos to use on your blog with clearly defined guidelines about how you can use them. I have a disclaimer on my blog about them.”
A Creative Commons license allows the individual (you) to dictate how, and if, others may use any of your work. Providing they give you credit, others may copy and distribute your work. You get to choose the conditions and keep your copyright.
DMCA is a protection site that will give you one free take down a year for free or those running a business on their blog may want to pay for more protection.
You’ll notice both of the above in the top of the sidebar.
You can do your own searches for image theft on Google images. There was another suggestion on one of the links I posted.

“Great tips about the water! Super important! BTW Hawk how have you been feeling lately?

I’m feelin’ pretty good. My eyes still bother me and my rashes still itch, but are getting better. I get my eyes treated 4 times a day and my allergy shots once a week.
Moving on to Sepia Saturday…
“Those first two photos are kind of scary looking, and the one of you looks like you are running from bad weather...was it stormy?”
Actually in the first photo the skies are clearing after 2 days of heavy rains. In the second it is an early and sunny morning. In the photo of me, I’m retrieving a bumper my Human has thrown high on the slope.
“What great photos of the mushrooms. Any idea what type they might be?”
They are growing on a mossy stump. Lots of neat mushrooms grow on old downed trees and on stumps, but these were some of the most interesting. I think my Human was hoping someone would tell us what kind they are.
Mischief Monday brought these questions from Oz theTerrier “Such strange weather, Hawk. But, the mountains look beautiful. I love how you get to hike and hunt bumpers in such a beautiful landscape. Is that a cow in that last photo? What kind of mischief were you up to, pal?
Oz”
Yes, that’s a cow in that last photo…
I, myself, have been a good fellow allowing my Human to treat my eyes 3 to 4 times a day and treat my rash at least twice a day.
Y’all hurry back now!
Great catch up Hawk and we hope your eyes are better. Have a tremendous Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Thanks for catching us up. I love these posts.
ReplyDeleteWow, it's so beautifully green in your mountains...everything is brown here in California it's so dry. Have a good day Hawk!
ReplyDeleteI thought too that anyfurbuddy knows the name of the mushrooms. we have one on our bench. I would like when it would get a name :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat post Hawk, and thanks for answering my question, i'm glad your feeling a bit better, but sorry your eyes are still itchy, that's just no fun at all! Thank you for linking up to our Thoughtless Thursday hop!

What a nice way to help us always behind people to catch up. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the blog hop Hawk and for answering my questions.
ReplyDeleteIt sure seems like you live in a very nice area, climate wise and all.
As for the creative commons issue, I do know of a blogger that had their entire site shut down because they used too many 'free images.' Which is why I always try and use my own. :0
This is a great summary to the week! I love those head shots of you Hawk. Frame them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on Thoughtless Thursday! - Ruckus the Eskie
