Q & A Time! Wow the Week Went FAST!

Hi Y’all!

Where did the week go?  Usually I hear the Humans say that…this week, I agree!  It flew!

First, let me address Thunder’s, Storm’s and Freighter’s comment on my post Tuesday about banned breeds…I started some research into their inquiry and it is too involved to reply here…So, I have decided to offer more information regarding BSL and banned breeds in the coming days and weeks.

Goose wanted to know if the red thing sticking out above my head was my Wubba.

Nope, actually it is one of my collars I wear when I’m out and off leash.  It’s bright red so I’m more easily spotted.  It shows better in this view below.

Fleas and ticks are a real problem, along with mosquitoes in the southeastern U.S.  Haopee asks about fleas and ticks because they don’t have them in their country.  Ticks are a major problem in tall grass and wooded areas. Since I live in a rural area, I always wear tick and flea preventative that protects against heartworm disease.

Avoiding ticks help prevent Lyme disease. Both of my Humans have had Lyme and don’t want me to have to suffer from it.  Lyme is carried by deer ticks.  Ticks are not much of a problem after a hard freeze which we get in the mountains in winter. However, since we usually spend the colder months at the shore, I’m never free from flea and tick threats.

Freddie and Gloria the Basssets asked if the headstone in cemetery shot was a family member.

No, not really.  However, in these southern mountains most people are related in some distant way or through marriage.

Jet asked me about “rolling in clover being good luck or something”.  If anybody has an answer drop a comment.

Y’all come back now!

  1. Oh I see the collar now. And yes rolling in most anything, especially clover is good luck.

  2. Hey Hawky! I just wanted to clarify what I said. We do have ticks and fleas. In fact, alot of them, but we don't have deer ticks and I don't see fleas and ticks dwelling in the grass. Maybe it's because we have the "ocean" visiting 3 times a month and I know they hate salt water.
