I was trying to help gather up sticks…
But I had the most frustrating time tryin’ to figure out how to carry the thing!
I tried to pick it up this way…

Oooo that is a tricky stick. But you handled it very well. Sometimes if I can not get a stick to cooperate I chomp it in half and make two trips.

That was a tree, not a stick. Our dog Matt tried to carry a tree once, it went not unlike your experience. But his "stick" was considerably longer. We laughed quite a bit. Looks like you were successful, so good for you!!
