Spring

Hi Y’all,

I want to continue to share our spring here in the Low Country.

I know some of y’all have been getting warm days and melting snow and are eager for signs of spring.  So I’m sendin’ y’all some!

My Human took these pictures Sunday of budding leaves on the trees and birds congregating.

There have been huge flocks of Red Wing Blackbirds passing through but they aren’t hangin’ around long enough for one of the Humans to get a picture.

The beautiful wood ducks are back and getting ready to nest but they are very skittish and fly before we realize they are there.

Y’all stay warm and we’ll continue to share signs of spring.

Now I leave you with the late afternoon light.  It stays light much later now.  We didn’t go for our evening walk until after six o’clock this evenin’.

  1. Nothing better than the signs of spring. I can't remember the last time I heard birds chirping. We still have a little winter left, as it is still cold and snow is predicted. But we a enjoying the longer days. Somehow helps put a spring in your step, doesn't it?

Thank you for your comment on my Monday Memories blog. I appreciate your input. (My husband is always trying to move that wall I keep beating my head on. BOL) Thank you for helping get it out of my way!!

  4. Spring is not here yet, in the Rocky Mountains we still have a lot of new powder snow coming down on the ski slopes. But we did see a robin yesterday.

  5. Here in OH we had a couple of days of weather where the sun was shining and it was 60 degrees out. Yesterday we got another 5 or 6 inches of snow! I'm ready for spring!!!!

  10. We had some great weather with a lot of melting snow. Then mother nature screamed "just kidding" and dumped 12 inches of snow on us...wishing for spring.

  15. I love the afternoon light. We've been able to walk all the way until 6PM. What a treat!

I love your signs of spring. We won't be seeing many for a while so I'll enjoy yours! Maybe your red-winged blackbirds are coming here! We have lots of breeding ones in the summer.
