Sittin’ on Top of the World! Whoopee!

Hi Y’all!
Everyone wants to know where the trail in Wednesday’s photo goes…the truth is almost anywhere you want it to go…
But mostly it goes North and South.
Cooper and Lola want to know if I see a bird…I just was lookin’ into the distance, but there are lots of hawks, falcons and Eagles up here.  We can usually watch them hunt.
Oh, don’t forget to go vote for Cooper and Lola at Handmade Fashions for Dogs called Sew DoggyStyle  (links are in bold)  Lola is catching up to Bentley, but he still has a big lead.
Dog is God in Reverse  wants to know if that’s where I’m going or where I came from.  Pup Fan wants to know where the path goes.
I’m lookin’ toward where our mountain house is.  Before you ask, no I can’t really see it.  There are so many twists and turns around peaks and through valleys that what you see on your right is on your left and … forget it…unless you live in the mountains I couldn’t explain it so you’d understand.
I have one final mention today regarding my rants earlier in the week.  I want to thank everyone who left comments and thoughts.  The one thing that stood out, beside the fact that we all seem to agree it’s the Humans who need to be banned, not the dogs, is that we need to KEEP TALKING ABOUT THE PROBLEM on the Internet and on our BLOGS.
Thank y’all from romp-roll-rockies for letting us know that the National Parks in the west have already almost completely banned us from enjoying the scents and  sights.
Y’all over at Houndstooth also pointed out that National Parks in your area banned us with paws.  Lots of states ban us from their parks too, but Houndstooth point out most of their state parks still allow us.

On the right is a picture of my adopted Chessie big sister who went over the Rainbow before I was born. In this picture she is joggin’ with my Momma on the beach and the waves are breakin’ behind her.
There are two parks side by side. One is a state and one a National.  The state banned dogs and part of the National allowed dogs.  My Humans used to take her every year she was able, to run and play on the ocean beach and swim in the cove.  But all the nature trails banned her.  There is another half of this same National Park that bans those of us with paws even in cars.
If we don’t stay verbal the anti-paws people will have us all in doggie jail.

  1. I saw an article that shows people's attitudes are changing and that young people are far less willing to support bans of breeds than older people. Thought you might want to see the good news: http://ow.ly/3Qihh

So keep blogging--the tide is turning.

  5. I do really hope that one day the 4 leggeds can enjoy the beauty of all parks. What a dumb rule! I wonder if guinea pigs are allowed?

  6. What's up with these people? They are doing the same thing in San Francisco too. It's not fair, I say.

  11. It is crazy how different agencies have different rules. I hope that you still have nice ocean trails that Hawk can enjoy.

The controversy rages on in my town. So many people are SO opposed to having dogs anywhere in the parks. It upsets me so much but I get the "party line" thrown at me whenever I add my voice to the fray. The party line is that dogs are bad for nature... therefore, ban them.

There needs to be away to allow responsible dog guardians and trained dogs to use the trails.
