Got a Question, I Got an Answer

Hi Y’all!

My friends up in the “not so cool” (temperature wise)state of Michigan, Storm and Thunder (visit here), told my newest friends, Sampson and Delilah (visit here), to check out my audible collar.  (Which, by the way, I’m not wearing in the picture above.)  I am sending them an email with the available options, since it is far too involved to go into here.  If you would like info on it, email me at browndogcbratlive.com.

Ruby (visit here) still needs your votes.  You can vote twice a day.  If you have more than one computer at your house, vote on all of them!  Vote Here for Raising Ruby!  This is a great chance to do something simple that will HELP other dogs.  Winners are honored with a $1000 donation to shelter/rescue.  Ruby’s chosen organization is Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies.  Plus, a win will give the service dogs’ puppy raisers the recognition they are due.

Thanks for stoppin’.  Y’all come back now!

Joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Hi Y’all!

Today I am thankful I can join Cokie the Cat in a Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

I’m also thankful that in the post following this one I can bring you Bankie…check her out.

Then join in the blog hop and tell us what you’re thankful for today!

One Happy Bankie!

Yep!  That’s me!  Just one loving, fun loving gal!

Click on my picture to go to my Petfinder  page (here).  Take a look at my video…what a fun time!  Open-mouthed smile

Humans think I am really a beautiful girl.  I’m 15 human months old, so I’m ready and eager to learn anything you want.  I have a gorgeous coat of chocolate with a “black saddle and markings”.

They say I’m a “chessador”.  That’s a Labrador crossed with a Chesapeake Bay Retriever.  Does it matter, really?

Please come meet me.  I’m really, really loving.  They say I’m a “joy to have around”.   Why don’t you call me at (336) 251-8877 and arrange to see me in person.   See how really loving and eager I am to be your special one.

If the fact that I’m a real love isn’t enough for you, let me tell you about the wonderful home I came from.  I had a wonderful person.  Unfortunately my person had to move to a place that wouldn’t allow me ‘cause I’m a dog.  I’ve always been well cared for and loved.

I love my crate and I’m housetrained.  I had some surgery so you don’t have to worry about unwanted puppies.  I’ve  had regular shots and they are all up to date.  I’ve been tested for heartworms and that test was negative and I’m on monthly preventative.  I’ve also been microchipped.

So you see, all the hard part of my training is done.  Now I’m ready to go on and learn more advanced stuff with you.

Oh, yeh, they have cats here.  I still haven’t quite figured them out.  No I don’t chase them.  They really don’t seem to be much fun.  If you go to my Petfinder page and watch the video you’ll see how much I love to play! and how much I enjoy a playmate.

If you have an questions email cedarfarm@yadtel.net.  If you want to be my lucky family there is an on line application available at www.cedarfarmrescue.com (here).   While you’re there be sure to stop a moment and read the dog’s prayer by Beth Norman Harris.

Is it you?  Are you my special someone?

Beat the Heat Part 2

Hi Y’all!

In the heat of summer life is kind of boring.  Sigh… There isn’t much to do.  However, I can see almost all the stuff going on in the house and outside from a  comfortable bed.

Y’all come back now.

It's Time

Hi Y’all,
It’s time to answer some of your questions!
First, I’ll answer Rumpy (here). Sorry Rumpy, my fan mail comes to my email address browndogcbratlivedotcom.

Regarding my mail service, Bunny (here) asks: You look like a professional mail dog to me! Do they pay you for your services, or is it a volunteer position?
Actually, Bunny, all my mail services are paid. Failure to pay usually results my retrieving the Got it!mail. My favorite treat, and the only one I can have with my allergies, is the only acceptable payment.
Stella (here) over at Just Ramblin is lookin’ for something to carry. Perhaps a basket that is more comfortable than the fruit basket I carry could have its handle padded. My Human doesn’t Carryin' basket to root cellardo much sewing, so that, while it sounds good, really isn’t an option for me.
Let me know what you come up with Stella.
Kari in Vegas (here) wants to know if I can come teach her dogs to deliver the mail. I really, really would love to come teach them. Maybe if I remind my Papa that you’re in Vegas…
Sara (here) wants to know if I get to open any mail…unfortunately no. I’m only allowed to carry the mail.
Finally, I want to thank Ms. ~K over at Dog Daze (here) for telling us that this beautiful flowering marsh bush is called a Buttonbush.

Black and White

Hi Y’all!

Still layin’ around waitin’ for a break in the heat.  No outdoor trainin’ for  me!  Walks are at  sunrise and sunset.  No body feels like doing anything more than walk.

This first shot was taken out on the water and “in color” but looks black and white.

This shot was taken on a misty dawn.

My Human thought I might look good in black and white too.  What do you think?

Still hot here.  How is it where you are?

Despite the heat, I still bring in the mail everyday!

Extra Treats

Hi Y’all!

First, let me give a special thank you to Mogley G. Retriever!  Mogley, you were right on!  The fix for the blogger 400 error code was MORE TREATS!  My Human doubled my treats and WE’RE BACK!

Second, Daley’s Dog Years asked if I gave the boat an “all clear” and KB over with K and R  and Kari in Mesa asked if it passed inspection.  Jen with the Brown Newfies wants to know if the boat is safe.  Sage wants to know if the boat met my standards.  The answer is a strong “yes” on all counts.

Before I take off I want to remind you there is still time to vote for Raising Ruby for a Pettie!  We need to raise awareness of the importance of service dogs.  Before you get a leader dog or other service dog, you have to raise them…VOTE TWICE A DAY HERE!

Now I’m off to enjoy some time aboard!

Heart Pet Day by Pawcurious

Hi Y’all!

Over at Pawcurious there is a special post today!  It’s about that dog with whom you have that special bond.

My Human has a special bond with me and a very special bond with the retrievers that preceded me.  The ones before me stole a part of her heart when they left.

So hop on over to Pawcurious  and share your own memories of us, the pawed ones who were special in your life.

Y’all come back now!

Leslie

Howdy Folks,

I’m Leslie.  See my wavy hair…it’s all natural!  No perm for this girl!

My family moved away and left me behind.  I’m here at the Copper Country Humane Society in Houghton,  Michigan.

When I first came to stay here, I didn’t know anyone and I was very lonely.  It wasn’t long, however, before I put my networking skills to use. I quickly let everyone know that I am really a sweetie.

I love most retriever stuff, like retrieving, swimming and long walks.  Don’t worry about me with your family or family dogs because I can adjust quickly.   Please let me come be a member of your family…

Slurps and wags,

Leslie

Terrific Tuesday

Hi Y'all!

Seems blogger is still giving me problems.  My Human says she thinks she'll have to uninstall the writer and reinstall.  Mogley said the "blogger 400 code only comes when you are under your quota of treats" and said if my Human would double my treats for a couple of days it will go away.  So tonight I got a double quota of bedtime treats.  Thanks Mogley!  Now we'll just have to keep up the extra treats...hopefully even after blogger gets itself straight.

Now I'd like to share a couple of scenes from Sunday's boat church with you.  First, headin' out on a beautiful morning.

Next the kids relax waiting for the service to begin as the loud speaker emits Gospel hymns in accompaniment.  Then, just some dogs wandering on their boats.  The yellow Lab is thinking about taking a quick swim.
