The Last Monday of 2012–Looking Back!!

Hi Y’all!

New Years Eve 2012!  What a mile marker!!!

There was lots of snow in the mountains last New Year and it looks like LOTS of snow this year too!

There were lots of pre-dawn outings in cold white dark.

Will we never get back to the shore and the milder temperatures?

Y’all come back now!

Follow Up Friday … The Last FUF of the Year!

Hi Y’all!

This is IT!  THE END!!!  This is the last Friday I’ll get to answer your questions in the year 2012!

Gizmo commented “Aw, sad ears :( Is Hawk sad cause it's another whole year to wait for more prezzies?”  Dawn from the American Dog Blog asked: “Is that a, "Thank goodness it's over," look?”

Just thinkin’  it’s gone so FAST!  Another Christmas!

melF from No Dog About It commented “You got snow too! Aren't you loving it?”

Sam asked “Isn't your bottom getting cold?”

Hawk in snow

Actually, y’all, I don’t stay out in the snow very long if I can help it.

Yes, I’m cold!

I’m practicing a “down” on the way back with the bumper so my Human could take this picture. Then I had to pick the bumper up and bring it to her.  Not the usual retrieve, but you never know what kind of stuff she’ll throw into a drill.  She says she’s just tryin’ to keep me from getting’ bored.

Dawn from American Dog Blog asks “isn’t it fun?”

Yes it is fun…for a little bit…then it is cold and wet.

Y’all come back now!

Keegan’s New Year’s Wish

Greetings Folks and People!

My name is Keegan and I stopped by to wish you a very happy New Year!

Keegan: Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Dog; Defiance, OH

I have a New Years wish…you guessed it…a family and home of my own.

I’m the perfect age…two and a half…

I’m about 60 pounds of retriever with plenty of energy to play ball or frisbee with you.  I’m a very good boy and listen well if you are interested in taking me to advanced training for agility or obedience!  Keegan: Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Dog; Defiance, OH

If you are looking for a buddy and you are willing to teach me boundaries,  I’m your boy!  I love having people around all the time, so it would be great if you worked at home or had kids to spend time playing with me.  I’m not that happy being alone.

My new years wishes for my new family would be that they take me for lots of walks.  I walk very nicely on a leash. I do like to chase little critters like squirrels.  So if you need me to keep the little critters out of your yard…Another wish, after being sure I have plenty of exercise,  I want to lay on the couch with you, preferably in your lap.  My other requirement is to be allowed to sleep in bed with my special person or people.  My final wish is to be taken for lots of car rides to fun places!

Keegan: Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Dog; Defiance, OH

I get along well with other dogs, but since I don’t share my toys well, it might be best if I am an only dog.  Cats are okay, but if they run I think they want to play and I chase.

I need a fenced yard…with a high fence…at least 6 feet…cause I can jump anything lower.

I’ve had a wellness exam and I’m up to date on all shots, I get a monthly flea, tick and heartworm preventative.  I’m micro-chipped, heartworm negative and neutered.

What more could you want in a companion?

To see lots of neat pictures of me go to Keegans Portfolio on FaceBook.

Oh, by the way, you can contact me at Labor of Love Dog Rescue in Defiance, Ohio.  The email address is: and the Fax: 419-899-3928.

Be sure to go to my Petfinder page first and if you fill out the application there, please be sure it is complete.

Follow Up Friday…

Hi Y’all!

Molly wanted to know “Stranger danger! What kind of bird is it Hawk?”

Gizmo answered that in his question: Is that a Great Blue Heron partying with those Egrets?

Emily asks: “Did anything happen?”

The great blue heron held his own…after all he fishes there daily, year in and year out.

“How y'all doin'? Yes, it's me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar. Hawk, I had no idea you had such a long furry tongue”

My British Blogville friend seems to have developed an accent of the southeastern USA, don’t you think?  And yes, Penny, it does appear to be a long furry tongue, doesn’t it?  Instead it’s a fun toy!  More on that later!

Sugar asks “You got a new toy, Did you?“

It isn’t new, but I don’t play with it all the time.  I’ve collected lots of toys and I take turns playing with different ones.  I hadn’t played with this one for awhile, so you haven’t seen it recently.

Sugar says “If you hoping for some SNOW I think it is coming soon”

We have to go to the mountains to find snow.  No snow at the shore…too warm, even this time of year.

Y’all come back now!

Once More…Not My Mischief!

Hi Y’all!

in the wetland...only it's dry

Sandy Hook Tragedy

Taken from Max & Lara. Article.   My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by this tragedy. Comments off today.

I’ve been tryin’ to leave comments for as many of you as possible…but the computer keeps freezin’ up!

My Human had the tech check it again and the result…defective hard drive…trouble is that it is older and no longer under warranty.  So we are trying to muddle through until after January in order to let the wrinkles in Windows 8 get ironed out.

To help out I’ve been tryin’ to keep posts short, since computer only co-operates for a very short time.  Then it just refuses to do anything!

Y’all come back now!
