A Little of This n That

Hi Y’all!

Monday I promised to tell you why I dropped my ball and rolled on the ground!

I got a laugh out of Storm’s person’s comment…

“In Storm's case it would be she smelled some animal poop to roll”

Sorry Storm, no poop to roll in…you’d love it during breeding season though…lots of duck and goose poop all over the place.  BOL…all yours too, ‘cause I’ve never rolled in it; I haven’t even rolled in dead animal carcasses.

But you weren’t alone in the “goose poop”…read on…

“My guess is goose poop. The Canada geese have been honking back to our area too. They sure would be fun to chase if it weren't for my darn leash. Your pal, Toby”

Sam said...

“By any chance were you rolling in goose poop?
Monty and Harlow”

Those of you wanting a little goose poop…August is the best time because the geese are molting and there are LOTS of goslings trailin’ along with the adults.

A few of y’all just had nice comments…

“Epic roll Hawk. That sure was a good one. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly”

“something got your undies in a bundle, can't wait for TNT.”

Some of y’all started guessing…think maybe they know me?

It looks like you got bit by something or else the grass was just overwhelmingly soft and fuzzy and you had to drop and roll.

“Looks like something bit you, Hawk. That's no fun.”

Janet Keefe said...

“I wasn't sure so looked at some of the other comments. Oh boy, I hope something didn't bite you, Hawk! Hopefully you just smelled something in the grass that you had to stop and roll in!

“Since you were near the river I'm thinking either a mosquito or fly bite Hawk...Have to come back to see for sure...Love the colors and effects in the last photo”

I think Roxy sums up everyones’ question…

“Looks like you were having fun. But then what??”

Then Oz recognized my agony!

“Oh Hawk...I sure hope you didn't step in a fire ant pile. I did that once and great dawg it was OUCHY! They bit up my paws all in between my toes and everything. I hate those critters.
Have a great Monday, my pal!”

For those of you wondering I did get up and return the ball, then my Human took me down to the water to drown those pesky critters!

Tomorrow I wrap up my week!

Y’all come back now!

  1. Hawk we don't get any pesky little bugs here so we should count ourselves lucky. Drats we swore it was a roll in stinky goodness. Have a tremendous Thursday.
    Best wishes Molly

  2. Oh no. We don't have fire ants here. Thank goodness. Snakes, gators and fire ants! Snow and months of cold are looking much better to me. :) Glad you got them off.

Thanks for participating in TNT and have a good Thursday!

  3. We tend to have lots of fleas in the park around here....they can get others rolling around too! Thanks for sharing!

  4. OUCH! Fire ants are the worst Hawk...Momz gets them under the straps of her sandles and you should see her dance...Hope you didn't get the swollen pimples like she does

  5. Ouchie! Good thing your human knew what had happened - those pesky ants are horrible.

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  6. Oh man, those fire ants are awful! Once when my daughters were living in Florida, I got bit by one on my toe. Since I'm allergic to bug bites I had that itchy sucker for a month!! It was horrible.

I hope they didn't get you too badly.

  7. Oh Hawk...I am sorry for your horror. Fire ants are just the WORST of all critters created. What are they good for? I don't know. Their bites are so ouchy...I feel your pain, buddy. Glad you were close to water so you could drown the lot of 'em!
    *high paw*

  8. Pesky critters is right - we ran into some of them once a long time ago and they are nasty! Good thing you had water nearby to drown them!

  9. oh no not fire ants, we don't have them here but hear they are nasty. so sorry your got fire ants in your undies.

  10. Oh Storm! Don't roll in there!!! Happy TNT Thursday! Thanks for hopping on with us.

  11. Oh no, it was the fire ants! I was hoping it wasn't! Good thing your human knew just what to do. And aren't you a tough still made sure you got your ball!
