Here’s Barkin’ at Y’all!

Hi Y’all!

P1400775

Today it’s time to catch up and answer your barks on Thursday’s Barks and Bytes Blog Hop hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog.

P1410007

Since it’s a thoughtless kind of day I’ll join up with Ruckus the Eskie and Love is Being Owned by a Husky in Thoughtless Thursday.

P1410043

Last Wednesday’s post showed a hen and her poults we’d come across.  I got a lot of questions…

Oz theTerrier  asked… “Are you growing those for Thanksgiving dinner, Hawk? Happy WW
Oz”

MyDog Likes   “TURKEYYYY!!!! Did you chase him?”

Whitley Westie  asked… “Are it Thanksgivin time already?”

Jenna,Mark Drady questioned…   “Thanksgiving already? BOL!

Love is being owned by a husky!

Nature by Dawn asked…

“Oh cool, Hawk! Who noticed them first? You or mom?”

P1400206

First, no, since my Human likes to photograph birds, I’m not allowed to chase them.  Wild turkey are difficult to find and shoot, so we rarely hear of anyone hunting them.  They’re really smart birds. They know when it’s hunting season and disappear.

P1400207

As for spotting them, sometimes I spot them and sometimes it’s both me and my Human…but I usually smell them long before anyone sees them, if they see them.

P1400205

As for Thanksgiving…a wee bit early here in the States, but my friends in Canada celebrate Monday, October 13th.  We don’t get to celebrate until Thursday, November 27th.  Sad smile

P1410050

LetterstoAndrew , regarding the Wild Cherries in last week’s Bark n Bytes, asked…

“That is definitely a weird looking seed/berry.

P1400434

As for the cherries, I wonder if they are poisonous? If not they would probably work well in jam. :-) Just sayin'.
Thanks for joining the blog hop!!”

P1400022

Don’t believe they are poisonous.

easyweimaraner, about Fitness Friday, asked…

“that obstacle looks interesting, maybe there is a mouse inside? have a super friday and always a cool drink!”

P1400399

2browndawgs   queried…

“Do you ever come across birds in your woods?”

P1400974

P1280258

P1280266

P1370840

Jans Funny Farm, about Ribbit, Ribbit, queried…

“We didn't see the toad in the first pic until we read a comment. Is that a goat in the second?”

P1400501

easyweimaraner asked…

“Is that a toad? be careful and don't lick on that thingy... I did that two times (yes, I'm obstinate) and both times my mouth turned into a bubble bath... and I thought it's common in France to eat that leaping treats... have a great saturday!”

P1400485

It’s a toad alright…but, much as my Humans love goats, and have had a couple, that sweet face belongs to one of the heifers.

P1410315

Then about Sunday’s post Janet Keefe asked…

“Hawk, you looked so happy and energetic! But maybe you wore yourself out, and it was time for a Sunday nap? :)
Jan, Wag 'n Woof Pets”

P1410187

Plenty of time for a nap when I get home.  Unless I get called back or we head back, it’s run, RUN, RUN!!!

On Mischief Monday, about autumn…

easyweimaraner queried…

“Isn't that great? the colors and the smell in the air and the deerprints and the mist in the morning... fall is super cool, I'm sure you enjoy it as much as I do :o)”

P1410463

My Humans enjoys autumn.  I LOVE autumn.  With this big heavy coat, the cooler weather means I can race about more before overheating.

 P1410418

Color hasn’t really arrived yet, but in a few weeks the mountains will be ablaze with yellows, oranges and reds.

P1410585

And regarding yesterday’s post…...

Molly The Wally

“The cows are lying down so is it going to rain Hawk? Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly”

Cascadian Nomads Bethany

“Are you going to join those comfy cows Hawk?”

Saved by Dogs

“Are those your neighbors or just some tourists passing through?”

Janet Keefe

“The cows don't look like they appreciated being disturbed! How were you supposed to know? :)
Jan, Wag 'n Woof Pets”

P1400999

First, no rain in the forecast until next week.  All cows lay down.  When an entire herd is laying down, you are more likely to have a shower.

P1400995

This gals are my friends and they know us well.

Hope I’ve addressed everyone’s questions.

P1400777

Y’all hurry back now!

  2. Mom loves cows and loves your cow pics! We see lots of turkey "herds" around here this time of year and just stop and watch them. They are amazingly ugly we think, but interesting!
