Mischief…Somebody Did Some Big Mischief!

Hi Y’all!

Remember last week I was off with the Humans.  Remember I told y’all that my Humans hate to travel when it’s HOT summertime.  This trip was not optional, so off we went just as dawn was breaking.

As we got into the low country temperatures soared.

When we reached the place my Humans were headed, we parked in a covered parking garage and my Human stayed in the car with me while Papa went inside to his business meeting.

When it would heat up in the car, my Human would start the car and cool it down.  Plus I had my little fan.  About the third time she started the car the low tire warning was lit.

When Papa returned, they headed to a gas station.  Fortunately they had an air hose, since some stations around cities have removed them.  The air was so low that it didn’t even register.Did y’all realize that gas stations now don’t really have a garage?  They have food, coffee and “stuff”, but can’t fix a flat tire.

So we drove on, stopped again for air, and drove on.  Papa kept a watch on how fast my Human was driving.  It was so hot he was worried about the tire from the friction on the road.  Finally we reached a place that would fix our tire.  I got a nice, but very hot outing while the tire was fixed.

It’s too hot for this “training” thing!

Can’t we just go straight to the reward?

Good night y’all!

Don’t worry, if you don’t recognize where I am…I’ll give you the final hints tomorrow.

Y’all come back now.

  1. That was quiet the adventure, a hot adventure. Once my MOM and I drove around our city for over 20 minutes just to find a place that had air. That's crazy! Looking forward to where you are.

  2. You do look a little bit hot there Hawk! Sure hope you are feeling cooled off and that you got your air in your tires now! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug

  3. I'll be back tomorrow to find out where you actually went. No idea so far.

  4. Where were you Hawk? Happy Monday to you all.
    Best wishes Molly

  5. Oh, all this heat sure is yucky! Hope you get back to your lake soon Hawk :-)

  6. Darn tires. Always causing mischief.

That last picture is really pretty.

  7. Hey Hawk,

Given that you got play time whilst the tire was getting fixed, did you have anything to do with it being flat? :) Just wondering - Tee Hee :)

    Wags to all,

    Your pal Snoopy :)

  8. Hey Hawk, Jet here.

Dude, those tire thingies are the worst! Mom seems to have a penchant (vocab builder) for getting glass, nails, and other naughtiness in them.

Sorry you had to deal with the heat, JJ and I are more used to it living here in the tropics.

Can't wait to see your final destination!!!

  9. I was starting to sweat reading the post! Isn't that something about "garages" nowadays. Can get coffee, but not fix a flat tire. Go figure. Glad all turned out OK. Now go get catch some snoozes in really nice cool place!

  10. I am glad you guys got home safe. I have done the drive-from-station-to-station-putting-air-in-the-tires thing before too :)

  11. It's such a big pain in the tail to find a place where you can get air! For bonus points, try to find a place with FREE air ;)

What's that bright pink toy you have in the first picture? It looks awfully wacky and fun.

  12. Hi Hawk!

It sounds like the car got into some mischief. I'm glad everything turned out okay. Hopefully the weather cools down soon.

    Take care,

  13. I really LOVE that last picture!

Not long ago, we got a tip from a man who worked at the mechanic shop in a gas station (they're still pretty easy to find in NY). He told us that you don't have to pay for air--the garage will have an air pump or be able to turn on the air pump for you without paying. All you have to do is ask. So if you ever get stuck, maybe that will help you!

  14. It's amazing how things have changed. what ever happened to the regular old gas stations!
