Snake in the Grass

Hi Y’all,

The other evening we were returning from our evening walk and my Human told me to wait.

My Humans said it was a water snake and wasn’t poisonous.  My Human thinks it’s called a “Plainbelly”  water snake.

He obviously had just eaten a rather large meal.  He politely posed for photographs and then slithered off and to the water’s edge.

Y’all come back now.

  2. Cool photos on the snake. I am glad he wasn't poisonous. My friend Dougal got bit by a rattlesnake the other day and is in pretty bad shape.

    Be careful my friend

  4. If I freaked out over a mouse, I would have had a heart attack over this snake! Poisonous or not! He really seemed to like having his picture taken though. great shots! :)

  6. That snake looks like he got extra lucky and chowed down on several somethings! Must have raided a nest somewhere.....

  7. Cool wait, Hawk! We don't have snakes that big where I live, but it's always a good idea not to get too close. At least that's what Mom says.

  9. Hawk, you and your human did a great job keeping your cool. I would have panicked and made lunch out of him for our hawks. How nice of Mr. Snake to pose for pictures.

  13. You handled that snake well. Pretty sure my Lulu would have tried to jump around it. She may have even barked at it!

  17. You sure showed some self-control there, my friend. A lesser dog would have been running around the yard with the thing in his mouth. Not that I have any of those kinds of dog at my place, LOL.
