Hi Y’all!
Here I am leaving.
Don’t you think that’s a good display of obedience?
Y’all come back now.
Hi Y’all!
Here I am leaving.
Don’t you think that’s a good display of obedience?
Y’all come back now.
Hi Y’all,
But me, a pawed one, just goes around and appreciates God’s beauty.
I love to smell the flowers, and later the wild berries. I appreciate the small delicate blooms of this miniature wild growing iris.
I even love my Humans’ planted azaleas.
As well as the flame ones growing wild in the woods.
Beautiful blooming trees.
And the dogwood trees that gave an unusually long and beautiful display this year.
So maybe I don’t go to a building and pray like humans, but I know about Life and take time to appreciate the journey.
Y’all come back now.
Hi Y’all!
Those of you who visited with me yesterday remember I promised some snow pictures. After almost summer like days we awakened Monday to sleet and snow.
Outside the mountains were obscured by the blowing snow.
After all that I was disappointed by the meager evidence the storm left in my yard.
But looking up at the higher elevations, where leaves had more sense than to put in an appearance yet, I saw a display that I’ve seen often in the winter, but never when the leaves were out.
That was Monday. Temperatures moderated in the afternoon and by Tuesday morning, without the pictures, we would have thought we imagined Monday. Temperatures have been in the upper 60’s with lows in the 50’s. It only got to 60 last night, but the day has been filled with thunder as storms circle again and again bringing rain. By the time you read this, temperatures are supposed to be “unseasonably warm”. IT’S SPRING!
Y’all come back now!
Hi Y’all!
Didn’t see y’all there!
Some of y’all had a few questions, so I’ll attempt to answer them.
Kari, over at Dog is God in Reverse, asked “is that a super sized hamster water bottle?”
It may be, but the supply store sold it for dog crates. Since the size crate I use for my room in the house won’t fit it the car, I pretty much fill this crate. My Human decided it was much better to have one of these on the outside instead of a bucket I could bump on the inside. When we go on a long trip in warm weather she carries a half gallon or two of spare water to keep my water bottle and bowl filled.
Thanks for askin’ Kari! Hope your strep throat is feelin’ better by now.
Alison over at Pawfect days thinks it looks like I’m on a road trip. 2 Brown dawgs also thought I might be off on a trip.
Marquie with Two Collies and a Mutt just asks “Where ya going Hawk? On an adventure I hope”. Goose over at the Gospel of Goose also hoped I was off on an adventure.
Sophie hoped it was pawsitive! Don’t worry Sophie it was great!
Marquie, you were right! I was going adventuring…of course all trips are adventures…but in this case I was going on a hike. Hopefully, Alison, and Thunder and Freighter, a road trip will be comin’ along one of these days soon.
Now, Bert, over at Four Legged Views, also known as Bert’s Blog, asked “Was that really a spider in the first picture?” Evidently the spider upset “my Vickie”…so, because my Human says I’m “well behaved”, if you’d really like to see the picture of the spider click here the spider is on the plant leaf in the second picture.
K-Koira over at My life with flyball dogs wants to know if my snow is all gone now. I was just asking my Human if this is all we get? Seems at the higher elevations there was more. However, this is supposed to be spring and next month brings summer in the southeast. Since Mother Nature is so confused this year???
I’ll have more snow pictures taken Monday to show y’all tomorrow. Let y’all see what the higher elevations looked like.
Y’all come back now.
Hello there. I’m Ginger.
I’ve been through the homes, let me tell you. Originally, me and my puppies got found by the landlord, so I was taken to the shelter. We were all put in foster care until the pups were big enough to have a life of their own. You guessed it, then it was back to the shelter.
I was lucky though. I got adopted by a nice family with a farm. Unfortunately I a retriever and all those chickens, geese and goats were just too tempting to chase. We retrievers need a job and to have our retrieving skills utilized. Instead it was back to doggy jail.
So now I’m hoping you’ll read this and have a fenced yard that needs a dog.
I’d like it if you were willing to utilize my retrieving skills and spend time training me to do useful things. That way I’d feel challenged.
To contact me click on my name, Ginger, or my picture or contact
Central Nebraska Humane Society, Grand Island, NE and ask for me.

Please note, Ginger is listed as a Chessie Rottweiler mix. However the pattern is also acceptable, though not preferred, for Chessies. Description quoted from the American Chesapeake site (here): masking on topskull, striping effect of light & dark through the body and on legs, distinct & indistinct saddle markings, agouti coloring and tan points. All are acceptable, they are just not preferred.
Seeing her coloring only in a picture, she appears to have a pattern that is acceptable for a Chessie.
Ginger is current on shots and spayed.
Hi Y’all!
I’d like to share some more of the beauty of spring with y’all.
Y’all come back now!
Hi Y’all!
Mornings are beautiful. Now that it is light really early and stays light until almost 8:30PM the Humans and I spend more time outside. When I go for my second walk the sun has spread its golden rays across the mountains.
But sometimes the clouds don’t stay in the sky.
And I realize that I don’t really know much about clouds.
But clouds that have fallen from the sky don’t seem to be bothering these cattle.
Y’all come back now!
Hi Y’all!
There are days that express your feelings.
Days when Mother Nature shows her true colors.
Hope y’all are having a great weekend!
Y’all come back now!
Hi Y’all!
How y’all doin’?
My Human is back to pullin’ her hair out! You guessed it! The computer again! The other day it started. I woke up and checked for comments on my blog…my post wasn’t there! My Human found my post under “posts”, the release time was correct…only it never released! The next day, the same thing! Friday morning was showing Thursday’s post! I know y’all out west and in other parts of the world are up and visit while we sleep…but why things aren’t working we haven’t figured out. Yesterday, some of my links to y’alls sites didn’t highlight, although they worked. Please bear with us.
Now, let me take y’all over to see some of my friends!
This year we have one calf that’s different than all the rest.
The others are all black or black and white.
Something is leaving powerful urine smells that even the Humans can smell and it is still tearing up trees. Some sort of big cat probably…definitely bigger than Allred!
The marks that appeared going up the tree and these marks aren’t bear. There have been a number of controversial sightings over the years of large black cats that scream like a woman. My Humans have heard them. A pair was sighted a few years ago fleeing after attacking a domestic cat. Look out Allred!
Now let me share a wild azalea blooming deep in the woods.
That’s all for today folks! Tomorrow I’ll have some more spring time sights to share with y’all!
Y’all come back now!
