A Death in the Family

Hi Y’all,

Today we bring you Dutch.  He is a 5 year old Chessie/Chocolate Lab mix.

A very special fellow, he and his sister, Coco and his friend Aryel have been through a very traumatic experience.  I’ll turn the story over to Dutch. First just let me remind you…click on the dog’s name or picture to see their web page.

Thank you Hawk.

It’s been a really rough time.  Thanks to my Human Mom’s wonderful neighbors we get to eat regularly.  Everyday a neighbor comes to feed us.

We had the most wonderful loving Mom.  You can tell how loving she was by how well the neighbors care for us.

We are so very thankful for these kind, caring people!

I have more love to give than you can imagine.  See my page here.

The neighbors also put up this nice fence to keep us safe.

Our loving Human Mom passed over to wait for us on the other side of the rainbow.

We’re so scared now.  We don’t know what’s going to happen to us.  Except when the neighbors come to feed us, you just can’t be sure what will happen to us.  I have to be cautious about new people coming up.  I’m loving and friendly if I know you.  I’ll even make friends with you after I make sure you don’t mean us any harm.

If you know about working dogs and especially retrievers, we do need a loving home.

Here is a picture of all 3 of us together.

Next I’ll let my sister talk.

Oh, she doesn’t want to talk.  She loved our Mom. This has be very difficult for her.  She doesn’t trust new people.  She needs to be with someone who has time to teach her to be self assured and trusting again.   I don’t think she’d want to share her new person with children.

This is Coco.  (Her page here)

This is me getting the treat someone tossed into her.  She wouldn’t eat it.  She’s watching me.

Thank you Dutch for telling us about y’alls plight.  You both can be adopted with no fee because you have not yet been taken into Surrey Animal Rescue in Mt. Airy, N.C.

Aryel is a Border Collie -Australian Shepherd mix who is very social and sweet and also polite on a leash.

She is still keeping the siblings company, so no fee for her until they take her into Surrey Animal Rescue.

All of the dogs are neutered.

To offer one of these dogs a forever home contact Surrey Animal Rescue.  The email is surreyanimalrescue@hotmail.com

  1. Thank you so much for helping to pass on their story. Losing a family can be very stressful. We will all have our paws crossed, hoping that someone will step forward and take them into a new, loving family very soon.

  10. I'll be thinking very good thoughts for Dutch, Coco and Aryel that they find a loving home that will help them through their loss and to thrive in the next chapters of their lives.

If they are still available for adoption on March 15, I'll certainly blog about them for Petfinder's "Adopt the Internet" event.
